Description
The cult of a powerful Goddess is known from many regions of antiquity, in the wide range of regional cultures in the Eurasian world, in Anatolia, in the Middle East, in the Near East and in ancient India. This book aims at an overall layout of the genealogy of goddesses, ultimately originating in the Palaeolithic era, throughout human history, highlighting different stages of transformation.

In its typology major markers of functional ranges are highlighted: (i) anthropomorphic identifications of the female principle of giving and supporting life; (ii) hybrid images with anthropomorphic and zoomorphic features; (iii) the anthropomorphic expression of abstract ideas; (iv) conceptualizing the One and the Many; (v) intercultural parameters of functional equations.
