To help us understand the success of these anti-establishment candidates, Charlotte Potts takes a look at the two biggest American protest movements of the past decade. The Tea Party (“We take our country back”) and Occupy (“We are the 99 percent”) changed the American political landscape dramatically, giving rise to right- and left-wing populism. Who was involved in these protests, and what motivated them? What did they want? Who supported them?
