This book is intended to improve its readers’ understanding of claims data research and to assist experienced academics and young researchers who are working with statutory health insurance (SHI) claims data for the first time with methodological questions. The structure of this handbook is primarily based on the classical steps used in the process of compiling an SHI claims data study and systematically deals with the relevant components of claims data analysis.
