Qualitätsverbesserung in europäischen Gesundheitssystemen

The reassessment of the issue of healthcare quality in Western healthcare systems involved the introduction of new institutions and instruments. A Franco-German comparison shows how the governance of healthcare sectors in both countries has been changed by quality assurance programs and explains convergences and divergences in the development.

Three essential instruments of quality assurance will be analyzed in addi-tion to the development of the program on the governmental level: quality indicators, medical guidelines and concepts of primary care.

For this analysis, the veto player theory has been combined with the approach of programmatic players.
