The Handbook of Racism Research systematizes for the first time the body of research and knowledge as well as desiderata of racism research. It provides an overview of the most important lines of development in racism research and of central theories and concepts. The question of how racism and the critique of racism are addressed and not addressed in different academic disciplines in the German-speaking world is discussed in a differentiated manner. In addition, the handbook offers a complex overview of central empirical research fields and findings, of figurations and formations of racism, and of relevant research methods. Thus, for the first time, the existing knowledge on the topos of racism in the German-speaking world is compiled. The handbook is suitable for studies and teaching, for application and basic research as well as for practice critical of racism.
