This book offers an insight into selected legal issues in child and youth welfare, in which social work and childhood education professionals are regularly called upon to make decisions that affect both the rights and the welfare of children and young people and their parents. It is aimed at professionals and students alike. The practical and examination relevance is illustrated by means of numerous exercises and practical solutions. Review questions are used for reflection and consolidation. Prof Dr Christiane Schmieder is Professor of Social Work Law at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. Her teaching and research focusses on child and youth welfare law and offender support.
