Description
Several crises have tested the resilience of maritime infrastructure in recent years. The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change have been particularly significant.
This volume examines the legal aspects of maritime infrastructure resilience. It approaches the topic by first taking stock of its key elements and prerequisites. The legal dimensions are then analysed and assessed in detail for different reference areas. It shows that law can also contribute to enhancing the resilience of maritime infrastructure. Important approaches can be found in supranational law as well as in national administrative and private law. For example, the legal admissibility and legal limits of individual resilience measures are relevant. The importance of administrative organisation, in particular legally structured coordination and cooperation, is also evident.
