This book is the first to analyse articles on Pim Fortuyn and Geert Wilders which were published in the leading Dutch newspapers and newsmagazines from 2001 to 2012. Its focus lies on the question of how journalists deal with right-wing politicians: How do they report about Fortuyn and Wilders? Which topics attract most attention? How do they evaluate the style and the programmes of these politicians? This book thus presents important findings about the role of the press regarding the widely discussed topic of right-wing populism and is a contemporary historical publication.
The author is a historian and conducts research on historical and political issues at the Zentrum für Niederlande-Studien (Centre for Dutch Studies) in Münster.
