Right-wing populism is usually studied in terms of its supporters, its mobilisation strategies or its potential threat to democratic systems. Its territoriality, on the other hand, has been less systematically addressed in the academic debate. This book examines how the AfD and the Lega shape territorial narratives around the East-West divide in Germany and the North-South divide in Italy. In doing so, it provides a deeper understanding of the territorial dimension of right-wing populism. Given the growing interplay between populism and territory, a scholarly examination of territorial politics is increasingly necessary. The book demonstrates the added value of a territorial perspective in the research on populism.
