Reden über Religion?

When a conflict is labelled as religious, the end of argumentative discourse is quickly reached. Against this backdrop, the letters of greats of Jewish advocacy in the early modern period are used to examine how the relationship between the formulation of an action-oriented address to Christian functionaries and their handling of the topic of faith affiliation and practice can be characterised. Structure and content are examined using Genette's levels of narrative and Entman's analytical tool of four frames.
