This study provides a systematic and comprehensive account of the multifaceted debate surrounding the place and legitimacy of religious claims to validity in the public sphere of pluralistic democracies. By combining research in political theory and religious philosophy, it develops new criteria for the normatively appropriate integration of religious voices. Thus, the book offers an interdisciplinary and at the same time independent approach to a central challenge for post-secular communities.
