Religionsgeschichte

The History of Religion examines individual religions from their historical emergence to the present or their disappearance. Each religion is subject to constant, dynamic processes that characterise religions from their history to the present day. A detailed methods section helps students to understand the subject and work on key issues. Five case studies throughout illustrate theoretical and methodological aspects and make the working methods, questions and aims of the history of religions tangible. The textbook shows the complexity of religious developments and their spatial and social interdependencies - thus broadening the view of the contemporary world of religions.
