Renationalisierungstendenzen in der Europäischen Union

Due to widespread misunderstanding and misinformation, few supranational institutions are more mistrusted than the EU. The consequences of hostility and discrediting have been seen, not least, in the clear gains made by right-wing populist parties in the 2024 European elections. Against the backdrop of current renationalisation trends, the book debunks populist prejudices about the EU and offers a detailed historical, economic and political account of European integration. Policy areas such as the single market, economic and monetary union, European asylum and refugee policy are contextualised in a global dimension alongside categories such as popular sovereignty, nation and democracy.
