Sanktionierte Schiedsparteien

EU economic sanctions restrict private law transactions. They thereby affect arbitration proceedings, which are grounded in precisely such transactions. This book examines the impact of selected European sanctions regulations (including Regulation (EU) No 269/2014, 833/2014, and 267/2012) on the participants in institutional commercial arbitration proceedings. Throughout the entire proceedings, the points of contact with financial and sector-specific sanctions are identified – from sanctions-related due diligence, through reporting obligations and data protection issues related to sanctions list checks, as well as the payment of institutional fees and securities for the costs of the arbitrators, all the way to enforcement.
