Description
The German welfare state provides benefits through a complex and fragmented system of various social benefits. The healthcare system, with its three pillars, exhibits an internal compartmentalized structure, leading to difficulties in distinguishing between statutory health insurance (GKV) and other social benefit providers. This can result in gaps in coverage, but also in duplicate structures that lead to overprovision. This volume contains the presentations from the conference of the same name held by the Institute for European Health Policy and Social Law (ineges), at which various interface problems were examined, their origins explained, and possible solutions identified.
