Description
This study contains the final evaluation of the project ‘promoting self-help activity in a rural area’, which was conducted in 2016–2019 in the region of Lausitz/public administrative region of Görlitz and was financed by AOK PLUS in Saxony and Thuringia. The regional agency promoting health-related self-help groups according to § 20h of the German Social Code, Book V is incorporated into the institution ‘Soziales Netzwerk Lausitz’ in Weißwasser. The evaluation is organised according to methods of qualitative social research and ethnography. The results of the project are discussed politically in the light of the legal framework within which municipal social services operate in German constitutional law in relation to the role of the public administration body in the region and the tasks of social services.
