Description
Sergij Bulgakov was a Russian philosopher of religion, theologian and economist. As a leading figure of Russia’s ‘Silver Age’, he achieved considerable renown. Whilst Bulgakov’s theological works have already been published in English and French, the Sergij Bulgakov Research Centre at the University of Fribourg is currently working to make his impressive ideas accessible in German translation as well. At the heart of Bulgakov’s theology lies the doctrine of the two natures as defined by the Council of Chalcedon. Bulgakov’s theology is an attempt to define this fundamental unity between God and humankind not merely in negative terms, but in positive terms as well. This volume is the first introduction to his theological thought in German.
