Sexueller Missbrauch in Institutionen

Sexual abuse is widespread, particularly in situations where one person holds a position of power and the other person is dependent on that power. This study focuses on the sexual abuse cases in certain institutions regulated in §§ 174a-c of the German Criminal Code (StGB). The objective of this research is to uncover potential weaknesses in the existing legal provisions and identify any gaps in protection that may exist. Where adequate protection may be lacking, the author sets herself the goal of developing proposals for appropriate safeguards and assessing whether and to what extent changes in criminal law are necessary.
