Description
Do co-operatives have a negative impact on competition, or do they promote competition and therefore represent a desirable form of co-operation from an antitrust perspective?
Lucas Dreyer analyses the antitrust assessment of co-operatives from a legal and economic perspective. His analysis is based on the Cooperatives Act and antitrust law. On the basis of various facts relevant to antitrust law, the author examines whether and to what extent the Cooperatives Act and antitrust law are compatible with each other, and what possibilities for restricting competition exist under co-operative law, on the basis of which co-operatives could be classified as cartels.
