Description
Andreas Reckwitz's furious cultural sociology of singularity struck a chord in the arts pages and academia shortly after its publication. It presents our society as a "society of singularities", currently undergoing an affective structural change that Reckwitz attributes to processes of self-parcelling. From this perspective, it is no longer the emergence of a rational modernity that is of interest for the diagnosis of our time, but rather the emergence of a "non-rational modernity". The contributors to this volume take a critical stance on this dysfunctional sociology of creativity from the perspective of their respective disciplines.
