Description
The concept of solidarity, which is frequently invoked and controversially debated in these days, has played a role in European integration history from the beginning. In the Lisbon Treaty, it is used in several contexts. The contributions of this volume unfolds its implications for such different areas like European asylum and immigration policy, the currency union, cohesion policy, and energy supply, and the question is addressed whether there is a general concept underlying these fields of European Union activities.
