In small and medium-sized enterprises, growth is often seen as a key success factor. At the same time, it can give rise to social conflict potentials that a management-oriented view tends to overlook. This book opens up an organizational-sociological perspective on the changing social dynamics within organizations during the early stages of their development. Drawing on two case studies, it analyzes growth-related conflict potentials and their effects on cooperation and social integration. In doing so, it makes an original contribution to business and management research on organizational growth.
