Sozialphilosophie
Description
The ‘social’ in a social form is often presented as the subject of today’s social philosophy. However, it is based on a form of sociality that is not exhausted in such a community. It leads us on the trail of a relationship to the other that is never fully realised in any social order and that is dependent on being accepted and treated well and fairly in social forms of life. In the process, everyone proves to be unreservedly dependent on the plurality of others and is at risk of being exposed to a variety of forms of violence. This fundamental problem is discussed in this book with a view to the present day, with the result that it becomes clear what is at stake in terms of the question of whether and to what extent we see ourselves as social beings.
