Sozio-technischer Wandel durch Europäisierung?

For some decades, waste prevention has been Germany’s top priority when it comes to waste management. However, this has not resulted in significantly smaller amounts of waste. Therefore, this comparative study of Munich and Cologne asks whether new European policies have been able to influence these cities’ socio-technical waste management systems on a local level. At the interface between political science and infrastructure research and focusing on incrementally unfolding EU-induced change on the local level, this study provides important insights for Europeanisation research, urban studies and the social sciences of technology.
