Steuerung einer nachhaltigen Produktnutzung durch Europäisches Kaufrecht in einer synergistischen Umweltpolitik

In order to achieve the global goal of sustainable product use, the EU is increasingly focusing on sales law. But to what extent can sales law promote sustainability? This work analyses the EU's Sale of Goods Directive and Right-to-Repair Directive, as well as the national sales laws of Germany, Austria, France and Belgium. The investigation is a specific contribution with the broader aim of integrating (supra-)national sustainability goals into the legal framework of EU sales law. It identifies ecologically oriented control options that are aligned with the outstanding requirements of EU environmental policies and that shape the interface between consumer law and environmental law.
