Tanz und Bildung im Spiegel von Emotionen

Dance educates in and through joy - beneath the surface of this often propagated wisdom, this work differentiates dance-specific educational potentials. Methodologically dance and movement knowledge is integrated into empirical studies and theoretical reflections. A praxeology of dance joys is draw which, along the categories beautiful, free, energy and fun reveals both connecting lines and decisive practice- and culture-specific differences. Sensitive to and appreciative of dance as a manifold movement phenomenon and equally aware of some dark sides of seemingly positive emotions, the author finally points to ways of participating in dance that are both joyful and critical.
