Description
Sabine Weichel-Kickert contextualises the historical photo exhibition 'THE FAMILY OF MAN in dialogue with the TEUTLOFF COLLECTION', opening up the presentation to future discussions. Conceived by Edward Steichen in 1955, THE FAMILY OF MAN is widely regarded as the most influential photography project of the 20th century. It also inspired Lutz Teutloff, who created a contemporary collection of humanistic photography entitled THE CONTEM-PORARY FAMILY OF MAN. Following Teutloff’s death, the author successfully transferred the collection to the CNA Luxembourg. This created a link to an UNESCO World Documentary Heritage that places a new focus on both collections.
