The 7th Joint Annual Conference of the Law Faculty of the Heinrich-Heine-University Duesseldorf and the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya/Israel, dealt with Judicial Review in Comparative German-Israeli Perspective. Professors as well as students presented papers about the conflict between the principles of democracy and the rule of law. The main focus was on the separation of powers and the role of the judicial branch as interpreted by the Israeli Supreme Court and the German Federal Constitutional Court.
