Description
Heinrich Wilhelm Bernsau (1727 - 1763) was a professor of theology at the university in Franeker (in Dutch Friesland), which was abolished in 1811. In the present work, to which Christian Wolff wrote a preface, the author is concerned with the subject of God's existence and his most important attributes and works. In doing so, he strictly adheres to Wolff's rationalist ideal of applying the demonstrative method to theology as he does to all other fields of knowledge. Likewise, in the organisation of the material, he closely follows the model of Wolff's Theologia naturalis, so that Bernsau can rightly be called a disciple of Wolff.
