Transnationale Akteure und Normbildungsnetzwerke

In our volatile world, which is threatened by military conflicts, economic crises, ecological disasters, high unemployment, individual acts of aggression and increasing right-wing populism, we urgently need a civilised global order. The development of a transnational public sphere and transnational communication by transnational players and networks can contribute to the creation of such an order. More than ever before, civil society organisations, the epistemic community and lobby groups are playing a decisive role in how the global economy and world politics are shaped. Together with states and international organisations, they are establishing norms and setting new standards. This book endeavours to make their attempts to establish a civilised world order plausible.
