The ongoing discussion about labour standards and corporate due diligence in global supply chains continues. Evidently, labour standards and due diligence are no longer a voluntary issue. This work identifies governance gaps in global supply chains and examines the regulation of labour standards and due diligence through soft law and hard law approaches. The author provides an overview of existing labour standards and due diligence at international, European and national levels, as well as in the area of private self-regulation. In this context, the increasing juridification of labour standards and due diligence is highlighted.
