Trilogie der Rechtsgeschichte
Zur Geschichte, Rezeption und Fortgeltung des Römischen, des Kanonischen und des Griechischen Rechts
Tectum, 1. Edition 2022, 282 Pages
Description
With a foreword by Prof. Dr. em. Hermann Avenarius.
The book contains a brief description of the history, reception and continuation of Roman law, Canon law and Greek law. It explains how the respective civil laws were handed down from antiquity and received in German legal history, and how they are still valid today or have had an impact. All three areas of law belong to the legal tradition of Europe, which can also find its identity as a legal and cultural community in this. The connection between legal history and the state and constitution becomes clear in the work of the still highly controversial political scientist Carl Schmitt, to whose work a contribution is added here as an introduction.
