Description
Why are women still significantly underrepresented in the field of insolvency administration despite their high qualifications? This work provides answers to a question that has received little research attention to date, one that lies at the intersection of insolvency law, constitutional law, and gender equality law. Drawing on nationwide data, the author analyses the actual representation of women in the role of insolvency administrator. She examines the causes of underrepresentation, evaluates current selection practices from a legal perspective, and develops potential strategies to promote the appointment of women as insolvency administrators, which are compared with existing gender equality measures in the private and public sector.
