The „Mollath“ case has brought forensic-psychiatric issues to the focus of public attention. It became apparent once more that in dealing with criminal acts by (allegedly) mentally ill persons intricate legal, psychiatric and ethical problems have to be solved. Adequate solutions can only be found through interdisciplinary cooperation of legal scholars and psychiatrists.
