The essential aim of this study is to solve the problem of how to punish genocidal deeds, keeping in mind the tension between the German Criminal Law System with its Doctrine of Concurrences and International Law that both apply for the German International Criminal Code. Based on a fundamental part describing the main aspects of the Doctrine of Concurrences, the study addresses the following questions: In case of several genocidal deeds, can the punishment be based on only one act of Genocide? How does the offense of Genocide relate to other criminal offenses of International Criminal Law, namely War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity, or national criminal offences like murder?
