Vom Staatskirchenrecht zu einem zeitgemäßen Religionsrecht

The profound structural change of religion cannot remain without effects on the legal order of religious communities. Different development paths for the churches are described and it is shown what consequences these may have for the established state church law.
To this end, the insights gained by sociologists and theologians are accessed, allowing for a discussion on the legal order of religion. That also calls into question the central institutes of the 100-year-old state-church law. In the process, it is important to find a new place for Islam on an equal footing with the churches.
The work is addressed to lawyers, social scientists, and all those interested in a strong role for religion in society.
