Wandel und Bestand

The European Union is still primarily based on legal norms. This work provides a critical review of their use in shaping European integration over the last 50 years. To this end, contributions on fundamental issues of integration, its values, goals, and methods, the institutional system, and selected legal issues are reprinted, critically commented on, and provided with references to current case law, legislation, and literature.
The book highlights the constants and variables of the integration process. Moreover, weaknesses and advantages of certain methods of integration become clear. The book is of equal interest to actors in the Union, lawyers, historians and political scientists.
