The technological, social and economic changes in the media have had far-reaching consequences on the production and distribution of news: the crisis of media companies, digital and mobile communication and the changing patterns of media consumption have confronted journalism with a wide range of challenges. The authors of this book deal with current developments from the perspectives of journalism practice, training in journalism and journalism studies. They discuss topics such as new business models and formats, the socio-demographic change of the profession, and the implications of media change for training in journalism, accountability and media politics.
