Was es (heute) heißt, Soldat zu sein

This anthology contains the papers presented at the annual conference of the Arbeitskreis Militär und Sozialwissenschaften (AMS), an information and communication forum for sociological issues related to the military, in 2017, which were subsequently edited, updated and expanded for this publication. The book focuses on both leadership in the German armed forces and global governance. Furthermore, the authors address important topical subject areas, such as the promotion of women’s careers in the German army plus the hybrid and multifunctional nature of soldierly life, and in doing so reveal all the facets of modern soldiering on both a national and a global level.
