Description
The first centuries on the Iberian Peninsula are marked by cultural diversity, which also encapsulates legal regulations. During the periods of Roman rule (218 BC to 476 AD), the Visigothic kingdom (Toledo 554-711) and the Islamic invasion, there were regulations on the distribution and protection of water, as it was perhaps the most important commodity available at those times. At present, there is a lack of detailed research into 'public law' legislation on the access to, and use and protection of water during these periods. Therefore, the first volume in this series focused on the emergence of a 'right to water'. This second volume deals with the further development of water law, as influenced by different legal cultures.
