According to Kant, human beings have dignity rather than value. However, they are also beings capable of grasping values, e.g. in the form of moral facts, but only insofar as they are human beings, i.e. lead their lives in the light of an idea of who or what they are. In this interview book, Markus Gabriel addresses various questions about his theory of value and anthropology. The main focus is on the question of what contribution Gabriel's philosophical approach can make to shaping concrete social practice.
