This study is the first to provide nuanced empirical insights into the effectiveness of victim support counseling, thereby laying an important foundation for its evidence-based development. A triangulated research design combines qualitative interviews with affected individuals and quantitative assessments of psychological distress over the course of counseling. Using established instruments and specially developed questionnaires, changes in distress, coping, and satisfaction with counseling services are systematically assessed. The findings provide in-depth insights into the processes and effects of psychosocial counseling.
