Wirksamer Beschäftigtendatenschutz im Lichte der Datenschutz-Grundverordnung

The work provides systematic guidance based on EU and national law for companies and public employers and clarifies the interaction between EU data protection law and national employee data protection law. It gives the reader a detailed overview of which provisions of the BDSG relating to employee data protection require interpretation in accordance with EU law and which must remain inapplicable in light of the GDPR.
The study focuses on the question of whether national standards for employee data protection meet the requirements for ‘more specific rules’ within the meaning of Article 88 GDPR, how they relate to the general provisions of the GDPR, and what practical consequences this has for legal practitioners.
