The answers to questions about measurability, attribution or - quite fundamentally - the definition of effect in social work seem to be too vague and too numerous. Nevertheless just in view of the increasing need for the legitimisation of the professional status of social work a further scientific foundation of the effectiveness debate is indispensable. This book contains both an overview of the current state of impact research as well as a transfer of the topic into the field of action of social work for the elderly. The results of the qualitative research based on this open the debate on the impact to the core element of the profession: Co-production as a negotiation process between the actors involved.
