Description
This work examines the awareness of the German business elite of their social responsibility and their participation in public discourse. Based on an empirical survey of managers and theoretical findings on social responsibility, the author shows how managers interpret their role in society. The results show that the majority of managers recognise their social responsibility. Despite this recognition, active participation in public dialogue is low. The paper concludes with recommendations for promoting the participation of business elites in social discourse.
