Description
The book makes the 17th century Chinese text “Yiguan” by Zhao Xianke available in an English translation. The author of the original text explains how to follow the path beyond old stereotype concepts and therapeutic methods towards an alternative view of health and disease. Like his contemporary fellows, he assumes a shapeless basic energy in the so-called “gate of life” which is responsible for the vitality of the organism, and which also bears man´s energy of Preheaven. Zhao´s main achievement is the insight that the fusion of the energy of Preheaven and the energetic center of Postheaven (spleen/stomach) may be the key for a sustainable therapy.
