Zwischen Autorität und Autonomie

This interdisciplinary study examines where and how Muslims seek religious guidance online, what criteria play a role in this process, and how their use of digital resources affects their daily lives and their approach to Sharia norms. By combining perspectives from Islamic studies, theology, and the social sciences, it provides in-depth insights into who is regarded as a religious authority online and how migration and media changes shape Muslim life in Germany. It thus offers a valuable contribution to understanding Sharia in everyday life, the diversity of Muslim reality, and current debates surrounding political Islam, Islamism, and Salafism, whose presence is increasingly shaping the digital Islamic landscape.
