Zwischen Logik und Narration

Analytic theology and the theology of ordinary believers are often regarded as incompatible: formal logic is said to be incomprehensible to those without theological training, whereas narrative logic is seen as undermining the analytical standards of rationality. This volume aims to overcome this distinction by exploring the similarities and differences between the theories of analytical theology and the interpretations of believers, without formal theological education, regarding the significance of Jesus' death. The analysis is based on a discourse analysis of relevant soteriological publications, as well as group discussions among ordinary believers on the meaning of the crucifixion. The findings of this study offer new insights into the relationship between systematic and practical theology.
