Sustainable Development in the 21st Century
The series of books entitled ‘Sustainable development in the 21st Century’ offers an excellent platform for innovative research contributions on important aspects of global sustainable development and resilience in times of rapid global change. This series does not only contain selected monographs, anthologies and conference transcripts, but also excellent doctoral and professorial dissertations or other similar academic theses. The series focuses on the question of which players, structures and processes facilitate or hinder sustainable development in today’s interdependent and highly complex world. Consequently, the series includes different methodological and reasoned perspectives from a variety of disciplines in order to discuss fundamental aspects and dimensions of sustainable development, such as politics, governance and institutions, research into risks and resilience, socioecological systems, human safety, social learning and ethics, and to present them in a context. The authors whose works are published in the series are globally renowned and esteemed experts, prominent young scholars from the social sciences and humanities, economics and law, or are figures from the world of politics and society. The works in the series are either published in German or in English.
