Antisemitismus in Alltag und Öffentlichkeit

The study addresses the perspectives of Jews regarding antisemitism in Germany - a subject which, despite its relevance, has remained largely overlooked for a long time. Based on a sociology of knowledge approach, problem-centred interviews and public positioning of Jews were analysed. Antisemitism is experienced as a constant source of insecurity in everyday life that can never be completely dismissed. It is understood as a widespread threat which non-Jewish societies often fail to fully grasp. Jews therefore demand a conscious confrontation with the problem and recognition in everyday life.

The author is a sociologist and researches antisemitism and conspiracy theories.
